E-Bike World Tour supports World Bicycle Relief

E-Bike World Tour is proud to support World Bicycle Relief an NGO founded in 2005 by F.K. Day and Leah Missbach Day. World Bicycle Relief deliver specially designed, locally assembled, rugged bicycles for people in need. They have developed an efficient, innovative, and scalable model to empower students, health workers, and entrepreneurs in rural developing regions with life-changing mobility.

 

OUR INVOLVEMENT

In 2021 EBWT and VEBF aim to make a difference not only in the E-Bike industry. We are aiming to be as sustainable as possible in all our activities. Partnering with World Bicycle Relief allows us to make the difference for many communities in need. To do so, we have decided to implement different strategies across all of the event areas. We will be will offering the possibility to our participants to donate during the registration process. Our sponsors and partners will be given the opportunity to offer one bike as part of their partnership. One of our competitors will be racing caring the colors of World Bicycle Relief and fundraising during the events. We are dedicated to spreading awareness through all of our communication channels.

Virtual Race (5 May - 5 June 2021)

Our friends at World Bicycle Relief are hosting their annual Pedal to Empower ride in June to empower women, girls and children to break down barriers with bikes.   We have decided to extend this event to a one-month challenge, and are aiming to raise 3’000 CHF in donations.   We are challenging you to pedalwith purpose, we have developed a “Virtual Race” format, open to anyone. 

We would like to invite you to join this initiative and celebrate World Bicycle Day and the Power of Bicycles and share your journey.

How to participate:

  • Anyone can participate by pedaling, running or walking any distance you wish.
  • Share a photo of your ride or walk on social media by tagging @ebikeworldtour or @verbierebikefestival and @worldbicyclerelief.
  • Join our fundraising campaign Pedal to Empower

 

To thank the participants of the challenge and the fundraising, a draw will take place with 4 VEBF e-biker's kits to be won and for the luckiest rider a Premium VEBF e-biker's kit including a VEBF Abus helmet.

This is an all-ages ride for anyone, any ability, anywhere. Grab your bike and unite virtually with riders across the globe as we Pedal to Empower women, girls and children in need with life-changing bicycles! Together, we can make a world of difference.
